This subcommittee will review the current requirements for admitting a resident into an assisted living facility in Virginia. We are particularly interested in considering the required information and documentation for admitting a resident directly from a hospital and how the process compares to the discharge procedures from a hospital to a nursing home. Our goal is to ensure adequate information is shared with the assisted living facility but in a more efficient manner to reduce unnecessary or duplicative paperwork and time commitments from hospital staff and healthcare providers.
