Resident Care Director - Memory Care

Spring Arbor Cottage of Salisbury is seeking a LPN or RN to join our team as Resident Care Director! The Cottage is Spring Arbor's memory care community.

This well-versed and dedicated Resident Care Director, with extensive memory care experience, will be integral to the Cottage of Salisbury's success. This nurse (RN or LPN) will have a passion for the care of residents, will have a heart for person-centered care and will be a strong leader. The Resident Care Director is the subject matter expert on all things related to managing the care of our residents.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage

  • Recruit, hire and manage cottage care team members
  • Complete scheduling for cottage care team members
  • Orient, monitor progress and reinforce training of cottage care team members
  • Complete all Spring Arbor and state required documentation in a timely manner
  • Function as part of the management team (manager on duty coverage, presenting the community, planning and participating in team members meetings, planning and implementing marketing and community events) 

Resident Care Responsibilities

  • Develop a care team and residential living environment that supports overall Cottage Care philosophy
  • Develop and implement resident care plans to meet the needs of residents
  • Create and coordinate implementation of ongoing person-centered activities and life skills programming
  • Complete resident assessments in a timely manner as required by Spring Arbor and state regulations
  • Coordinate resident care service needs in collaboration with care team and community department heads as appropriate
  • Monitor physician orders to assure follow-through and completion
  • Monitor all aspects of medication administration
  • Audit Medication Administration Records (MAR) and notify pharmacy of changes
  • Consult with families and/or physicians to coordinate resident care needs
  • Communicate with physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding medications, treatments and/or therapies

Training

  • Coordinate and/or conduct in-service training for cottage care team members as needed
  • Attend meetings and training sessions as required and in accordance with state guidelines

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Candidates must be 21 years of age or older and have LPN or RN nursing licensure in good standing with state licensing authority
  • Aptitude and previous experience with Alzheimer’s and memory impaired residents
  • Strong background in nursing and leadership
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to work in an environment conducive to caring for residents without posing a substantial safety or health threat to self or others
  • Ability to manage team processes and promote a team environment
