The Virginia Assisted Living Association (VALA) actively strengthens relationships with pertinent governmental (federal, state, and county) departments, agencies and legislative bodies for the purpose of working with them in a positive manner to promote Virginia’s assisted living industry.
 
VALA wants to recognize individuals and organizations that are supportive of the assisted living industry. The VALA Recognitions Committee serves to increase awareness and nominations for the VALA Diamond Awards and other VALA recognition events and ceremonies. The Committee will review and submit suggestions for improvement on the VALA Diamond Award categories, nomination requirements, award selection procedures, and award presentation procedures.
