“The Rapidly Changing Dynamics of the Front Line Workforce"

The acceleration of the aging population in America is exacerbated by the rapid decline of front line workers to care for the elderly. In this discussion we will explore macro economic forces at play, as well as the phycological and social forces that positively and negatively affect this workforce. We will also review the financial impact these changes have on the industry and what we can possibly do to improve the situation.
Ancillary care refers to the wide range of healthcare services to support the work of a primary care physician.  The collaborative approach of Ancillary and Primary care to narrow the scope of differentials to identify diagnoses can support improved health outcomes. For most older adults, care needs include preventive services (including lifestyle modification) and coordinated treatment of chronic and acute health conditions.
To illustrate the importance of ancillary care in the comprehensive approach to health care delivery, our conversation will focus on fall risk management and diabetes management, and the importance of podiatry, optometry, and audiology in elder care.
