The Virginia Assisted Living Association (VALA) has actively served on Governor's Northam's Long-Term Care Facility Task Force regarding Virginia's response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19). As the Commonwealth continues to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, Virginia's assisted living communities (ALFs) have had to overcome many obstacles to adapt to the ever-changing situation. As part of the response, ALFs have had to develop and to continuously update policies and procedures in order to best care for their residents as recommendations from federal, state, and local officials evolved.

For this webinar discussion, VALA has invited public and private sector representatives to continue our discussion and to provide current updates on "Virginia's Response to COVID-19 Related to Assisted Living Communities". Below is just an overview of some of the topics to be discussed.

  • Reopening Guidance
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Testing Updates
  • Infection Prevention & Control
  • Labor Standards and Requirements
  • Funding opportunities for Assisted Living Communities
  • Additional COVID response updates
There is limited capacity for the call.

Continuing Education Credits: This program will be submitted to NAB/NCERS for 1.50 total participant hours of continuing education. Only individuals pre-registered for the call and marked in attendance will be eligible to receive CEUs.
