This webinar will assist learners in recognizing some of the signs and symptoms of anxiety and depression in those living with dementia. It will address the similarities and differences between symptoms seen in those with healthy brains and those living with branch change. This session will also help attendees learn to respond to these symptoms to decrease the chances for escalation and ‘non-helpful’ hospitalizations. 

Objectives: By the end of this session, learners will be able to: 

  1. Describe some common signs and symptoms of depression and anxiety 
  2. Discuss the ways in which these symptoms may present differently in those living with dementia 
  3. Describe recommended strategies to address depression and anxiety in those living with dementia

Continuing Education Credits:

This program has been approved by NAB/NCERS for 1.0 total participant hours of continuing education. Only individuals pre-registered for the call and marked in attendance will be eligible to receive CEUs. 

Nursing Credits:

This program has been approved for 1.0 contact hours relevant to the practice of nursing as authorized by the VA Board of Nursing.
