Train-the-Trainer: Medication Aide - Online

This is an interactive Train-the-Trainer course for Medication Aide instructors presented over two days. The training will help trainers be able to effectively train individuals interested in becoming a registered medication aide. The training entails understanding the specifics of adult learners in order to engage multiple personalities and maintain an emphasis on making learning fun and interactive in the classroom. This training is intended for RNs, LPNs, and RPhs who wish to teach uncredentialed individuals and learn how to establish a program and its principles of adult learning and to prepare and present lesson plans in a Medication Aide Program approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing and the Department of Social Services.
This training is intended for RNs, LPNs, and RPhs who wish to teach uncredentialed individuals and learn how to establish a program and its principles of adult learning and to prepare and present lesson plans in a Medication Aide Program approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing and the Department of Social Services. As a result of this two-day training, attendees will be able to successfully teach others to become medication aides. Participants will learn about the 8-hour MAT (DMAS), the 16-hour MATY (VAISEF), the 32-hour Medication Management (VCU/Fidura), and the 68-hour Medication Aide (BON) programs.
