Argentum (National Association)

VALA is the state affiliate member of Argentum in Virginia. As an affiliate, VALA works with Argentum on issues impacting the senior living industry nationwide including with federal advocacy efforts. Argentum also helps to keep VALAupdated on developments in other states. Senior living communities can join Argentum directly, giving them access to all the benefits they have to offer.

Argentum is the leading national association exclusively dedicated to supporting companies operating professionally managed, resident-centered senior living communities and the older adults and families they serve. Since 1990, Argentum has advocated for choice, independence, dignity, and quality of life for all older adults.

Argentum member companies operate senior living communities offering assisted living, independent living, continuing care, and memory care services. Along with its state partners, Argentum’s membership represents approximately 75 percent of the professionally managed communities in the senior living industry—an industry with a national economic impact of nearly a quarter of a trillion dollars and responsible for providing over 1.6 million jobs. These numbers will continue to grow as the U.S. population ages.

COVID-19 RESPONSE: ADVOCACY OPPORTUNITY

Standing With Seniors - Send Letters to Congress
Argentum is communicating with key legislative and regulatory officials to continue to share the needs of the senior living industry; discuss avenues and opportunities for senior living to be considered for relief funding from the PHSSEF; and to suggest a methodology for distribution based on senior living staffing calculations. To further assist in the effort, Argentum has launched a grassroots campaign, "Standing With Seniors". We hope you will help us to reach the goal of 500,000 letters to Congress by urging your residents, residents' family members, and community staff to submit messages through the Argentum platform.
