VALA PAC

WHAT IS THE VALA PAC?

The VALA PAC is the acronym for the Virginia Assisted Living Association Political Action Committee. PACs are used to raise money for specific industries & populations to make monetary contributions to candidates for public offices. All contributions received by the VALA PAC are combined and used to make donations to candidates who are supportive of the assisted living industry.

In addition to making monetary donations to candidates, the VALA PAC actively lobbies to pass positive legislation for the assisted living industry and to block legislation that would be harmful to the assisted living industry. Maintaining active communication with Virginia's legislators empowers VALA to be included in important discussions and decisions that pertain to the assisted living industry.

In order to be the most effective, we need advocates in the legislature, and in order to get AL advocates into the General Assembly, they need our support. While lobbying and campaign donations sound like dirty words after many stories of misuse, money is the lifeblood of any candidate's campaign. This is how they buy the advertising to get their message out, and getting their message heard is how they get elected.
